Director General. Responsible for concept, strategy and implementationof a foundation to revitalise the public cultural programme of the PalazzoStrozzi, Florence’s largest temporary exhibition space.
The FPS is one ofItaly’s first public-private foundations, and was created in July 2006 bythe City of Florence, the Province of Florence, the Chamber of Commerceand an Association of Private Partners. The Palazzo Strozzi aims to offera wide range of major exhibitions, cultural events and educationalprogrammes including a new centre for contemporary culture, LaStrozzina.

Director. Responsible for concept, strategy and implementation of afoundation to promote creativity, learning and play as a philanthropicvehicle for the CEO of LEGO, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen. The NGf wasregistered as a charity in the UK in 2003, and was widely recognised forits innovative web-based platform, the Map of Creativity, its projects,such as Making Playful Learning Visible, and its support in bringingresearchers from the developing world to attend internationalconferences in London. General Director. Responsible for all aspects of the museum’s operations,reporting to the Deputy Mayor for Culture and the City Council ofFrankfurt. Relaunched the museum (formerly the Crafts Museum orMuseum für Kunsthandwerk) in 2000 as the Museum for Applied Art witha major design collection and a new emphasis on ‘digital craft’ – acollection of websites and computer games (www.digitalcraft.org).Revamped the museum’s programme with exhibitions including ‘Blood:art, power, politics and pathology’, extended opening hours ‘till 8pmdaily, bilingual texts throughout, and wireless internet throughout (aEuropean first). Revitalised the museum shop mak.3 and the museumrestaurant Emma Metzler. Visitor numbers doubled in three years, andbuilt a group of ten, 3-year museum partners to support the museumsnew programmes. The museum generated more income from privatesources than any other Frankfurt museum in the same period.

Head of Design, Education and Programming. Invited to lead the designteam for the new Dutch national science and technology centre.Responsible for overseeing the development of 3.000+m2 of newinteractive exhibitions over four floors in a new-build Renzo Pianobuilding. Responsible for the concept and implementation of a strategy toincrease the ‘holding power’ of traditional interactive exhibits.Responsibilities grew to include directing the institution’s researchprogramme, which resulted in 28 published papers, 8 Master theses, andthe initiation of 3 doctoral theses by the end of 1998.

Independent consultant and exhibition specialist. Clients includedUNESCO, UNICEF, Science Alberta Foundation, Science World, andInterCultura. Exhibitions included The Gates of Mystery (Walters ArtGallery/V&A), African Zion (Walters Art Gallery), Beyond the Naked Eyeand Body in the Library (Science Alberta), Mine Games (Science World)
