On completing his degree in Economics, Marco worked for a business consultancy company in Italy and in the United States, where he spent two years working on business start-up projects.
In 1996 he joined the Shell Group and began working in the Business-to-Business (“B2B”) sector, managing Shell’s supply relationships with major corporate customers for its finished products. By 2006 he had become responsible for all B2B activities in Southern Europe, whereupon he took up the position of General Manager for Shell’s Gas and Power businesses in Italy and France.
In 2010 Marco was appointed Country Chair for Italy and the Adriatic Countries, with the latter currently including retail operations in Slovenia. In 2010 he was also appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Shell’s Exploration and Production business in Italy. Since 2017 Marco has been appointed as visiting professor at Science PO – Paris School of International Affairs.
Marco was born in 1965, is married to Monica and has three children.
